The G.ho.st platform is a hosted virtual desktop network that allows users to have their own customizable desktop interface that is hosted completely online and accessible from any web browser. G.ho.st users can upload their files to the reliable G.ho.st databases which are housed at Amazon.com. Once files are uploaded, the ability to share them with the public or other specific G.ho.st users is available.
This technology allows users on-the-go to quickly customize any computer they happen to be sitting at with their own saved preferences, files, and settings by opening the web browser and logging into G.ho.st. This is very useful for home users, but the technology is easily adaptable to be used for business purposes as well.
Many competitors, such as VMWare and Citrix have tailored their HVDs to businesses that want to be able to give employees access to shared company information within the clouds and easily accessible from any computer.
